A practical introduction to MDP functionality
Purpose
This document is written for individuals and associations new to the Wicket Member Data Platform (MDP). It is delivered in a problem set format to provide a low-risk, guided exploration of the platform, and to increase familiarity with MDP core features and modules.
This document can be copied and shared freely, and is applicable to both staging and production MDP environments.
We encourage you to use this problem set as a learning tool at various stages of your association’s deployment of the Wicket MDP. For example, the problems presented here provide valuable foundational knowledge in the first weeks and months of onboarding and discovery. Developing this knowledge and experience early on helps inform important data migration and configuration decisions. Key staff can use the document to explore the MDP and gain hands-on knowledge of its features, which ultimately leads to a more efficient, focused discovery process.
Leading up to and following launch of your production MDP environment, this document can also be used to provide an orientation and initial training for staff at your association who will be using the MDP admin functionality. We believe there is no better way for staff to develop confidence with the MDP than through the hands-on experience and exploration covered in these problem scenarios.
As an added feature, this problem set includes a full solution guide, allowing users to check their understanding and approach against the recommended solutions provided here. Where applicable, the solution guide includes links to our public Wicket support knowledge base, where many topics are explored in greater detail.
We hope that this guide provides a valuable framework for your understanding and use of the Wicket MDP. We’re confident that it will accelerate your association’s journey to seeing the benefits of a Wicket-connected ecosystem.
