Touchpoints always belong to a Person. Organizations don’t own touchpoints; they show a roll-up of touchpoints from the people connected to them.
What connects a Person to an Organization
A person’s touchpoints appear on an Organization’s Touchpoints tab if the Person has any of these:
- An active Relationship to that Organization (Person-to-Organization)
- An active Membership assigned from the Organization (Where the Organization holds the membership and assigns a seat to the Person)
What happens if the Relationship and/or Membership Assignment ends?
When either of those ends, only the Person's Touchpoints that were written while they were connected to the Organization will remain under that Organization. New Touchpoints on the Person may still be written to the person, but if they have a new Relationship or Membership Assignment, they will roll up to their new Organization.
For example:
- Someone who left Org A last year won’t have their newer touchpoints on Org A.
- Someone who joins Org B today won’t bring their older touchpoints onto Org B.
