Merging People (Beta)

*This feature is currently in closed Beta Testing, and will be deployed to all clients at a later date*

The Merge People feature allows Wicket Administrators to have a controlled approach to removing duplicate people while preserving data by combining data from a source Person into a target Person's profile.

There are two ways to initiate a merge:

Method #1 - Merge from the People page

Within the Wicket Member™️ Admin panel, click People from the top menu, then click Merge People from the sidebar menu.

This will open the merge tool where a target (Merge Into) and source (Merge From) person be selected.

Method #2 - Merge from an individual person profile

Within the Wicket Member™️ Admin panel, navigate to a Person record. On the Profile page, click Merge from the top right links.

This will open the merge tool with person already added to the source (Merge From) field. The target (Merge Into) person can then be selected.

The Merge Into field is the target person. After a merge is complete this person's record will remain and include data from the source person.

The Merge From field is the source person. After a merge is complete this peron's record will be removed entirely. The data from this person will be moved in the target person's record.

Once the target and source are selected, there are four tabs (Profile Details, Contact Details, Preferences, and Additional Info) with data options that should be reviewed and adjusted.

Profile Details

For each profile item, select the value to keep on the target record. Only one value can be selected.

Contact Details

For each contact item, select the value(s) to keep on the target record. Values can be selected from BOTH the target and source.

Preferences

Communications settings can only be selected on the target record. By referencing the source record data, manually adjust the target communication settings as needed.

Additional Info 

For each additional info item, select the value to keep on the target record. Only one value can be selected. Additional info data can be directly edited within the merging tool, or if there is no data on an item, the New button will allow for new data to be created.

Note: Relationships, memberships, groups, touchpoints, messages, comments, to-dos, and leaves will all be moved to the target person. The target will now hold all records from both people. These records are not automatically deduplicated—manual review and cleanup are required after merging.

Complete the merge

Important: MERGING IS PERMANENT AND CANNOT BE UNDONE.
